Developed by the International Image Institute, the 16-season system is a globally recognised system based on colour theory and developed for all skin tones. It is designed to make your natural features pop and is not confined to beauty standards.
what to expect during your colour analysis
1. discovery
- Getting to know you - your preferences, lifestyle, shopping and makeup habits etc.
- Learn about colour theory and its impact
- Understand the 16-season system and what to look out for during the session
2. about the 16-season system
- Based on your natural colouring - of your skin, hair, eyes etc.
- Will not change over the course of your life, barring major changes e.g. medical reasons / old age, which may affect results slightly
In this system, each season has overlaps with every other season, creating nuanced yet easy to understand colour palettes for you to take away and apply with confidence.
3. draping
The bulk of the session will be draping to help us understand where you are in the 16-season system. The step-by-step process is logical and easy to follow, and together we’ll find out your:
- Personal season - what types of colours look best on you based on your unique features and undertone - warm? cool? light? dark? strong? dull?
- Wow colours - the colours that make you stand out
- Best hair colours - which tones, and how cool / warm / dark
- Best metals - the best metal for your skin tone (white gold / yellow golds / rose gold)
- Makeup - lip, cheek and eye products that will make your natural beauty shine
4. conclusion
Personal colour analysis is so much more than just finding out what your best colours are. After the draping, we’ll help you process your results and understand how to apply it to your daily life - including shopping, dressing for work etc. - with ease.

5. post-consult
You will receive the following within 48h of your session:
- Your custom digital summary report of your colour dimensions, your palette, your best colour(s), and hair + jewellery + makeup recommendations
- A digital swatch card for your future clothes and makeup purchases
- Exclusive access to garden party, poppy days' digital database for even more post-consult support - with makeup and style recommendations especially for the workplace
